That’s right, today I am dressed as a banana – it is cancer prevention awareness day at The Health Cloud, and so we are all dressing fruity. Cancer prevention is something that is very important to me, as I believe that the key to fighting cancer is to prevent it rather than waiting for it to develop, and then trying to cure it.
The good news is, cancer prevention is a whole lot easier than cancer treatment, this is because cancer is a modern disease, and a result of modern lifestyles. Cancer was unheard of until relatively recently, and its prevalence is growing rapidly. The contributing factors being:
- Poor diet
- Not enough micro-nutrients
- Too much processed foods
- Too much artificial chemicals (such as pesticides, artificial sweeteners etc)
- Lack of exercise
- Excessive alcohol consumption
These factors are massive contributors to developing cancer, and are within our control! By not smoking, improving your diet (eating natural) and exercising regularly you will not only feel great, but massively reduce your risk of cancer.
So the purpose of cancer prevention awareness is to try and make people aware of the above factors, and help reduce the incidence of cancer.
This is why I am a banana.
